Making happier families!

The Problem:  Parents and stepparents frequently argue about how each person parents, differences in their parenting styles and how each believes in disciplining children.  Arguments may also include issues about parents showing favoritism towards biological children and not the non-biological children, jealousy, sibling rivalry and financial pressures related to the previous divorce.  Concerns and suspicions may also be present about sexual issues between step-siblings and stepparents and stepchildren.

This course is designed to:

  • Help current family members treat each other with mutual respect, fairness and equality.
  • Increase the level of trust between the parents and help them to parent all of the children fairly and effectively.
  • Reduce the amount of conflict and negative feelings when it’s time for partners to communicate or interact with their ex-partners.
  • Address and resolve left-over feelings of jealous, hurt or anger with the ex-partners
  • Help the non-biological parent develops a respectful and appropriate relationship with their partner’s child or children.
  • Help partners come to accept the financial realities that have resulted from the divorce settlement.
  • Help children address and resolve loyalty conflicts with the divorced parents.
  • Help both partners understand that the non-biological parent can take disciplinary actions with the partner’s children or children only after they have established a relationship with the child or children.
