Many couples argue about money!

The Problem:  The couple has frequent arguments or disagreements about how much money one or both of them spends and about how the money is spent.  The couple may argue over how much money is to be saved and for what reason money is to be saved.  A person may feel that their partner is wasting money because they do not shop around for the best possible value.  Partners may become distrustful and suspect that the other is secretly spending money, and the arguments may include criticism that one of the partners does not make enough money.

This course is designed to:

  • Reduce the frequency of arguments over how money is spent and how much money is to be saved
  • Help the couple develop some long-term plans for spending, saving and investing money
  • Help the couple develop open and honest communication about how money is budgeted
  • Help the couple address individual problems that might interfere with their finances (e.g., drug or alcohol dependence, gambling, issues related to Bipolar Disorder, or employment instability)
