No one person is always right

The Problem:  Sometimes, a person has a rigid and consistent attitude that their own opinions, behavior, beliefs and feelings are right and that their partner’s opinions, behavior, beliefs and feelings are wrong.  Of course, this type of attitude results in frequent arguments, tension and disruption in the relationship.  When this kind of mindset is present in a relationship, the attempts that are made to resolve problems often cause more tension and conflict than the original problems.  Anger, blaming and retaliation are often found in these types of relationships.

This course is designed to:

  • Help the couple become more accepting of each other, forgive shortcomings and develop more tolerance toward individual personality differences between them
  • Create an atmosphere that allows for partners to have differences of opinion, beliefs and feeling without conflict arising
  • Recognize and understand that the intolerant attitude that a partner has might be his or her way of coping in the relationship
  • Help the couple communicate their true feelings and do so without them being defensive
  • Understand that different people have different ways of perceiving and dealing with issues in life
